March Proud was started as a collaboration between the DCI and WGI ensembles in Utah. The goal was to use their combined influence to make a difference in the local LGBTQ+ community. A special “March Proud” Utah shirt design was sold and the funds raised were donated to a local non-profit focused on providing safe spaces and enrichment to LGBTQ+ youth.

The goal now is to expand our efforts to the greater marching arts community. By doing so, we help to normalize showing pride in who we are, at all times. We show openly that the marching arts are a safe space for everyone. At the same time, we raise funds for organizations actively making a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth in our communities.
